Why You Shouldn't Skip Epcot
Epcot is one of the most unique and amazing theme parks in the world, and definitely one you can’t skip on your next trip to Walt Disney World. With its futuristic technology, world-class attractions, and celebration of international cultures, Epcot offers a one-of-a-kind experience that is unlike any other.
Future World
One of the main “lands” of Epcot is Future World, which is dedicated to showcasing the latest in technology and innovation. Here, you can experience attractions like Spaceship Earth, where you ride through a giant sphere (the icon of the park!) and learn about the history of communication. Or you can journey through a wormhole on the thrilling new attraction Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. There's also The Land Pavilion, where you can learn about sustainable farming and even take a ride on a boat through a tropical rainforest, or go under The Seas with Nemo and Friends.
World Showcase
The World Showcase is the other major “land” of Epcot and is a celebration of international cultures. Here, you can explore 11 different pavilions that represent countries from around the world, including Mexico, Japan, France (home to the new family-attraction Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure), and more. Each pavilion features unique architecture, food, and entertainment that is authentic to the country it represents. You can also interact with Cast Members from each country, who can share insights and stories about their homeland.
Food and Drink
Epcot is also known for its incredible selection of food and drink. The World Showcase features a wide variety of restaurants that offer authentic cuisine from each country. You can sample sushi in Japan, crepes in France, or tacos in Mexico. In addition, Epcot is home to popular annual festivals, which each feature unique booths offering dishes from around the world, as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic drink pairings.
Celebrations and Festivals
Epcot is home to several annual festivals and celebrations that offer unique experiences throughout the year. In addition to the Food and Wine Festival, there is also the Flower and Garden Festival, where the park is transformed into a beautiful garden wonderland (my personal favourite, which features incredible character topiaries around the park), and the Festival of the Holidays, which celebrates holiday traditions from around the world, not to mention the International Festival of the Arts.
Entertainment
Epcot offers a wide range of entertainment options, including live performances and shows. The World Showcase features daily performances from musicians and performers in varying countries, offering a unique and immersive cultural experience. If you visit during one of the annual festivals, be sure to check out the limited-time entertainment offerings, too.
Interactive Experiences
Epcot offers several interactive experiences that allow guests to engage with the park in new and exciting ways. For example, you can design and test your own virtual car at the Test Track attraction or create unique art pieces during the International Festival of the Arts. In addition, the park features several interactive exhibits and games that allow guests to learn and have fun at the same time (younger kids will love the “What If” Labs near Journey into Imagination with Figment).
Overall, Epcot is an amazing theme park that offers something for everyone. Whether you are interested in technology, culture, food, or entertainment, Epcot has it all. With its unique and immersive experiences, Epcot is a must-visit park for anyone traveling to Walt Disney World Resort.
